Goda tårtor på Nordells Konditori

Arvika - A small town with a large variety of cafés

The Swedes hold coffeebreaks very dear to their heart. In fact, they even have their own name for it; fika! Fika can vary from having a coffee with your colleagues at work to having a "gofika" with your friends on the town. Arvika will satisfy even the pickiest of fikaconnoiseur with its wide range of characteristic and personable cafés.

Unique Arvika

In the centre of Arvikas there is a wide variety of cafés and thanks to the large variety we are sure there is one for everybody. For those searching for a cozy café with a traditional and oldfashioned environment with inspiration from Värmland artists we recommend Elins Bakgård and Café Nystuga. Both are in comparisson to other cafés in the area quite new but are despite this very popular and many peoples favourite fikadestinations. They also have lunches and events like musicevenings and knitting-cafés.

If you are more interested in a retro environement we recommend City Konditoriet ("City") who has their original furnishing from the 40s and serve what is mostly asociated with a traditional Swedish fika. If you ask the locals they can agree upon that the typical Arvikacafé is either City konditori or Nordells Konditori (Nordells) because of their history and their loyal longtime customers. Nordells opened their doors in 1911and have since then kept their beautiful location on the town square, it is the perfect café for someone who wants to sit outside on their deck on a hot summers day and observe the life on the square.

If you are more into chain coffeeshops we also have an Espresso House that is situated on the town square in Arvika whre you can enjoy a iced latté on a hot summers day.

Summercafés

During the summer the amount of cafés suddenly expands. Wherever you are in Arvika we are sure you´ll be close to a café. Have you had a dip at Ingestrand then Café Kanoten or Ingestrands Glasscafé (icecream café) is the place for you.

Even if you are a little outside the centre of Arvika you will still be able to find cozy cafés to stop for a fika, for example DrängstuganKaffekvarnen and Café Carl. You find even more cafés in the Arvika Turistguide. So, feel free to take a trip in our beautiful region and enjoy nice coffee breaks.
